Under the Sea | Aquarium By The Bay

It was one of those days where we just had to get out of the house. Unusually hot weather combined with no AC in our city apartment meant we needed to find a cool spot to hangout for the afternoon. One place we had yet to explore in this lovely city of ours was the Aquarium by the Bay. It's small by aquarium standards (nothing like Monterey Bay) but it was cool inside and had just enough to keep our little guy interested. I couldn't help but think of one of his favorite books, The Pout Pout Fish, as we strolled through the tunnels checking out the jellyfish.

"Along comes a jellyfish.

He floats through the ocean,

His tentacles all trailing

In a gentle locomotion."

After we said goodbye to the jellyfish, we headed out to the pier for some ice cream (because when it's triple digits in the Bay, you get ice cream for dinner!) and watched the seals basking in the late afternoon sun. For a day that literally broke records as one of the worst heat-wise, it ended up being a pretty lovely afternoon.

Have you been to the Aquarium by the Bay? What was your favorite part of the visit?

PS - I'm currently in the process of setting up a print shop which will feature travel, landscape, and fine art photos for your home and work space! You'll be able to purchase prints, canvas wraps, and digital files to print on your own or use online. A few of the shots above will be featured, too, so stay tuned. And be sure to sign up for our email list to get a discount on your first purchase and be among the first to know when the shop launches!
